Council
The VSA Council is the legislative body of the VSA. Made up of the class and residence presidents, Council certifies student organizations, creates policies and legislation of the VSA and approves fund allocations and budgeting. The VSA Executive Board sets agendas and the VSA President chairs meetings. Each member of Council also serves on one of the four standing Council Committees: Academics, Activities, Finance and Student Life. Members of council also serve on the Appointments and Constitutional Review Committee. Council meets weekly, on Sunday nights in the College Center MPR at 7 PM. The meetings are open to all students, minutes are public and agenda items may be brought by any student.
Council Committees
There are four standing committees of the VSA Council. A member of Council serves on at least one committee, each of which meets weekly and is chaired by a Vice President of the Executive Board. The committees serve to coordinate the efforts of the VSA leadership, writing and discussing legislation, policies, and opinions of Council. The parameters of Council Committees are laid out in Article I, Sections 9-14 of the VSA Bylaws.
