Dia:Beacon FDR Library and Estate Val-Kill Vanderbilt Mansion

AttractionsWhether you like history or hiking, modern art or museums, the Hudson Valley will always keep you busy. Students enjoy the world-class collection at the Dia:Beacon, the expansive Catskill Mountains, and a host of local entertainment. The region is teaming with historic locations, most notably the FDR Presidential Library and Estate. "They would understand the rest and peace and strength which he had gained here and perhaps learn to come, and go away with some sense of healing and courage themselves," said Eleanor Roosevelt of her husband's presidential library. Nothing could be more true of the serene yet energizing Hudson Valley.

As a History student, the Hudson Valley is like a laboratory of American cultural heritage." — Brian Farkas '10, VSA Vice President of Operations
