Exploring the Hudson Valley: Vanderbilt Mansion National Historic Site

Vanderbilt Mansion National Historic Site

Hyde Park, NY 12538

(845) 229-9115

If you like history, architecture, or nature (or all three), you should definitely visit the Vanderbilt National Historic Site! It’s only a short drive from campus, and while you’re in the area, you can also visit other historical sites, like FDR’s boyhood home or Val-Kill, Eleanor Roosevelt’s estate. The tour of the mansion is only $8, but if you want to save your money, you can still walk around the grounds for free. The Italian Gardens are especially beautiful.
