VSA Saturday Shuttle

Beginning January 21st, the VSA shuttle will run each Saturday for 7 one-hour loops to its usual weekend stops, including the Train Station, Galleria, Barnes & Noble, and Stop & Shop. The last stop back at Vassar each Saturday will now be around 10pm. Shuttle service will no longer be offered on Sundays.

Capital Loans System Launches


The VSA maintains an inventory of items for general use by organizations. Individuals can check out these items and return them to the inventory once they are finished with them.

About the VSA

Mission Statement

The VSA shall serve, represent, and promote the interests and welfare of the students of Vassar College. It shall encourage student representation and involvement in college decision-making and shall strive to enhance the quality of life and education for the students of Vassar College. It shall represent the opinions of the student body, serving as a communications conduit to the Faculty, Administration, Trustees, Alumnae/i, the local community and beyond. The VSA shall also sponsor, support, and be responsible for student organizations.

VSA Committes

Much of the VSA's work is done in various committees. These committees discuss various issues dealing with campus, student, and academic life. All meetings (except for Finance) are open to all members of the VSA.

Student Life: Friday, 1:00pm.

Operations:: Wednesday, 8:30pm.

Academics: Wednesday, 5:30pm.

Activities: Monday, 7:30pm.

Finance: Wednesday, 4:00pm.

SHUTTLE

Vassar offers a free shuttle bus service into Poughkeepsie, operated by the Leprechaun Lines company.

FIELD WORK

Offered by most departments for academic credit, field work enables students to examine the way the theories and the practical experiences of a particular discipline interact. It provides opportunities for observation and participation which are not ordinarily available in classwork. Depending on their academic interests, students undertake internships in a variety of organizations and agencies in the local community and other places.
