Poughkeepsie, NY
Let us reconsider Meet Me in Poughkeepsie as a performance: We can’t know, fully, what we are getting ourselves into. Nor should we want to. We meet at Main Circle at 3:00 pm and are picked up by a taxi van. The driver introduces himself and collectively we decide what to do for the next two hours. Maybe we run errands, go to the park, or buy the driver lunch at his favorite restaurant. We get to know one another. We might not like each other. We might get to see another side of Poughkeepsie. There are things we disagree on, things we share. For two hours we allow ourselves to participate.
