Ansambl Mastika’s music is rooted in the myriad styles of the Balkan Peninsula. They blend those tumultuous and irresistible sounds with the global sensibility and spontaneity of downtown jazz musicians in an approach best described as THE NEW BALKAN UPROAR!
As members of such luminary NYC-Based groups as ZLATNE USTE BALKAN BRASS BAND, SLAVIC SOUL PARTY!!, the ZAGNUT (CIRKUS) ORKESTAR, and ROMASHKA; they have helped bring the music of Eastern Europe to New York City and beyond.
They have a tradition of getting audiences out of their seats and onto the dance floor.
NOTE: THIS SHOW IS ENDING AT 1AM RATHER THAN THE USUAL 1 30AM
We are Vassar College Entertainment, but you can just call us ViCE. ViCE is a student-run organization that is responsible for bringing any and all forms of entertainment to campus, both small and large in scale. Throughout the year ViCE's seven committees work together to provide Vassar campus with weekly concerts, film screenings, comedy shows, dance parties, as well as major music concerts, all of which reflect the breadth and diversity of Vassar students’ entertainment interests. We both honor that diversity and strive to bring the community together. After all, ViCE is for everyone.
