ViCE publicity keeps committee members involved on a weekly basis, from designing posters to brainstorming for publicity stunts to updating online media including viceisnice.org and Twitter. We oversee the PR for all ViCE events, from the smaller weekly events to the large-scale, including parties and concerts. Take a break from homework and get creative.

ViCE Special Events
ViCE Special Events is a committee dedicated to entertaining Vassar, we deal with all that’s not music or movies, we are and can be involved in those activities however. SE brings comedians, hypnotists, humorists, mentalists and many other -ists to campus. We are also the brains behind the huge parties ViCE throws during the year; all of ViCE works together on these, but we come up with themes, discuss ideas about equipment, decoration, among many others. Special Events is a very versatile committee, we have the freedom to bring almost anything to campus, and we will be working on-stage, off-stage, before and after events to make them as unique, original and fun as possible for the whole of Vassar College.

ViCE Music is about bringing the spectacle of large-scale, musical performance and the colossal potential of sound to the Vassar community. We specialize in melting brains, composing the clusterf*ck, and giving birth to illegitimate sonic children. We book shows that we love and shows that we know everyone else will love too. We’re the humble servants of the desire dance, jump, jostle you friends, jerk around, or stand with arms crossed and act over it. Everyone’s invited. Come help us live the dream, follow our rainbow, be all that we can be, etc.

Vassar Student Band Union
The Vassar Student Bands Union is an organization dedicated to the promotion and collaboration of Vassar College based student “bands.” The term ‘bands’ or ‘band’ refers to musical groups with at least one member that are not officially supported by any department of Vassar College.
The V.S.B.U will host events where student bands both Vassar based and based at other colleges and universities can perform. Additionally, the V.S.B.U. will act as a support system and resource for the many Vassar College students who play in bands. The V.S.B.U represents a serious attempt to improve both the musical quality of Vassar based student bands and the experiences of the Vassar student/musicians who participate in them.

The youngest member of the ViCE family, No-ViCE throws frequent small shows throughout the school year showcasing dynamic artists who offer something different. We’re kinda like ViCE’s spunky renegade little sister. Like many of the bands that we bring, we’re fiercely independent when it comes to promoting and running our shows. In addition to bringing interesting new sounds to Vassar, No-ViCE aims to create an environment at each show in which students can get together regularly to enjoy great live music.

Who says there is nothing to do on a Tuesday night? ViCE Jazz hosts jazz night every week where you can join your fellow music loving students down in the mug for live music, dancing, and drinks. Every week we have a different band and a different kind of music. You can expect a variety of bands ranging from the highly acclaimed jazz drummer Richie Barshay and his trio to funkier bands such as Chicago Afrobeat and Pimps of Joytime.
ViCE Film League
Film League is the sect of ViCE responsible for the campus’s weekly film screenings and events centered around movies. Whether it is an outdoor screening of the summer’s hugest hit or a night filled with movieokie and popcorn, Film League is always working to keep student’s entertained. Each weekend a new film will be screened on campus, giving students a chance to view a wide variety of films without paying the hefty price for a movie ticket. In addition, there will be several events held that will go above and beyond your usual film screening. This year Film League promises to be bigger and better than ever, and we look forward to seeing you at our events!
