Julia Hanna - 2012
I’m from Milton, Massachusetts, just outside of Boston. On the surface, it’s pretty similar to Vassar, but I have never encountered as many interesting and passionate people in one place back home as I do every day at school.
Who's your favorite musician? Why?
Honestly, I go through phases with who I like to listen to. Most of the time, it depends on my mood and whether I want to sing along, dance, or just chill. The Beatles seem to capture every single mood, so I’d have to say they’re my overall favorite band.
What's your favorite song we do?
Hmmm… tough one. Probably “Thank You” because it’s pretty challenging, but still funky and fun. Of course I love them all though :)
If you could go to any time period or date in time, which one would it be? Why?
I’ve always said I was made to grow up in the ‘80s, even if only for the fashion and music. But I guess if I had to pick any time period just to visit, it would have to be somewhere more historically significant. I don’t really know where, though… maybe Victorian England.
If you were a Harry Potter character, who would you be?
) Ron Weasley (the female version) – I’m kind of a goof ball, but I will always be there for my friends. I’m very loyal and reliable.
What happens on your average Friday night?
Let’s see… lots of movie nights. Dance parties are always fun. Really anything with friends and nothing too crazy.
What's the stupidest thing you've ever done?
Falling off my bike and fracturing my elbow my first day on the Vassar campus (before classes even started) wasn’t the brightest thing I’ve ever done.
Favorite place (in the world).
LaFage, France- in the middle of miles and miles of sunflower fields.
Ski or snowboard?
The uncoordinated generally do not handle ice well.
Random fact about yourself?
I’m a huge music geek and I carry a pitch pipe in my purse wherever I go.
