The equestrian program at Vassar College is committed to providing safe, fun instruction to riders of all abilities, from people who have never been on a horse before to those who have been riding for many years.  The program's emphasis is on hunt seat equitation, on the flat and over fences.

We offer both competitive and noncompetitive programs.  As a team (competitive) member, a rider dedicates her/himself to the improvement of her/his riding skills and shows regularly in the Intercollegiate (IHSA) show circuit.  As a club member, a rider learns to ride or continues his or her riding skills in a relaxed atmosphere.

You do not need a horse to ride!!  However, boarding is available at The Southlands Foundation, the barn where we ride.
